What is a VPN?

What exactly is a VPN?
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. A VPN is exactly what it sounds like, it is a private network of secure servers that can be accessed via the internet. Virtual Private Networks are often setup by companies to give employees secure access to their office files over the internet.

Many companies often have multiple VPN servers located in different cities or countries to give their employees faster access to their files no matter where they are located around the globe. Employees' web traffic and downloads are protected when they are connected to their company's VPN servers because all of the traffic between their personal computer and the VPN is entirely scrambled and encrypted.

Regional Internet Access
The Easynews VPN operates in much the same way with a private network of secure servers that you access over the internet, but instead of giving you secure access to files from our secure VPN servers, as was the case with the office employees in our example above, we give you secure, private and local access to the internet. For example if you would like to access Italian  sites, all you have to do is connect to one of our UK servers and you will be given a secure and private UK IP address that will allow you to access Italian websites locally from the UK.

Anonymity, Privacy and Security
At Easynews, security and privacy are our primary concern and to that end, all of our VPN servers use 256bit AES OpenVPN connections to encrypt and secure your connection to our VPN servers. In addition to privacy and security, our VPN also protects your anonymity because you are automatically assigned a new shared IP address once you connect to any of our VPN servers.

A shared IP address means that you will be assigned an IP address that is also shared by multiple other users. The use of shared IP addresses protects your anonymity because it is impossible to single any one particular user's internet activity out. We also don't keep any logs of our user’s activities, ensuring that your online activity is truly private and anonymous.
