Easynews DMCA Policy

Easynews is a Usenet access provider. It offers access to articles across a wide range of newsgroups on the global Usenet network. Easynews does not operate as an Indexer, nor does it moderate, curate, or control the articles that are posted to or made available via Usenet. All articles originate from third-party users and servers around the world.

As a neutral provider, Easynews complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and responds to valid takedown requests submitted under this law.

What Is the DMCA?

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act is a United States law that outlines procedures for copyright holders to request the removal of allegedly infringing material hosted by Internet service providers and access providers.

Under the DMCA, service providers are given a safe harbor from liability if they act expeditiously to remove or disable access to material when notified properly by a rights holder.

How Easynews Handles DMCA Requests

Easynews follows the DMCA process and removes articles when a valid notice is received. Because Usenet is a globally distributed system, articles may continue to be available through other providers, Indexers, or servers not associated with Easynews.

When an article is removed, it is no longer accessible through Easynews services, even if the article remains available elsewhere on the Usenet network.

The DMCA itself can be read at here.
