NZBGet Setup Instructions for macOS Users

Use the following instructions to configure NZBGet with Easynews on your Mac.

Step 1: Download and Install NZBGet

  1. Navigate to NZBGet official download page.

  2. Download the latest .dmg package for macOS.

  3. Open and move NZBGet into the Applications folder.

  4. Start the application.

Step 2: Open NZBGet Web Interface

  • Once running, open your browser and visit http://localhost:6789.

  • Use these default credentials:

    • Username: nzbget

    • Password: tegbzn6789

Step 3: Enter Easynews Server Details

  1. Navigate to Settings > News-Servers.

  2. Create a new entry or modify the default server:

    • Name: Easynews

    • Host: news.easynews.com

    • Port: 563 (SSL) or 119 (non-SSL)

    • Encryption: Enabled

    • Username and Password: Your Easynews credentials

    • Connections: Use up to 60 based on your plan

Save changes and restart NZBGet to apply settings.

Step 4: Set Up Indexer Integration

To streamline access to Usenet articles:

  1. Confirm correct folders under Settings > Paths.

  2. Use automation software to link Indexers.

  3. Input the Indexer’s URL and API key.

Step 5: Confirm Configuration

  1. Return to News-Servers, select the Easynews entry, and click Test Server.

  2. Once the test passes, NZBGet is configured for Easynews.
