Resolving Newsbin Issues with Easynews

1. Prevent Layout Errors with Shift Key

Holding Shift during launch disables saved UI layouts and may restore functionality.

2. Fix Disappearing Interface Elements

  • Go to Options > Reset Display GUI.

  • Newsbin will restart and reset the layout.

3. Lost or Empty Server List

If Easynews isn’t listed in Options > Servers:

  • Use New Server to re-enter your connection settings.

4. Application Fails to Launch

  • Force-close Newsbin via Task Manager.

  • Rename the .nbi config file in the Newsbin data folder.

  • Restart Newsbin to regenerate default settings.

5. Database File Corruption

  • Rename .db3 files while Newsbin is closed.

  • This can resolve issues with headers or missing group data.

6. Interference from Security Software

  • Temporarily disable your firewall, VPN, or antivirus software.

  • If functionality returns, configure exceptions for Newsbin.

7. Problems Accessing Articles

  • Confirm that group headers fall within Easynews’s article retention.

  • Adjust Indexer settings and retry.
