GrabIt Setup Guide for Easynews​

To set up GrabIt with Easynews, follow these steps:​

1. Download GrabIt

Visit the official GrabIt website and download the latest version.​

2. Install GrabIt

Run the downloaded installer. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

3. Initial Configuration

The connection wizard will ask for some basic information:

• News (NNTP) Server: Enter news.easynews.com.

• Credentials: Input your Easynews username and password.

4. Additional Server Settings

To optimize your connection:

• Right-click on the default server in the left-hand column.

• Select "Server properties."

• Adjust the following settings:

  • Hostname: Ensure it's set to news.easynews.com.

  • Port: Use port 563 or 81 for secure connections, or 119, 22, 23, 53, 80, 110, or 443 for standard connections.

  • Encrypted Connection: Check this option if using an SSL port. We recommend always using SSL encrypted connections.

  • Max Connections: Set this according to your Easynews plan's allowance. All Easynews plans give up to 60 connections, though we recommend starting with 8-10 and adjusting to find the optimal configuration.

5. Finalize Setup

Click "OK" to save your settings.

6. Importing NZB Files

To import NZB files:

• Click on "My GrabIt" under "Subscribed groups."

• Select "NZB Import" from the upper menu.

• Choose the server (e.g., Easynews).

• Click "Add" and select your NZB file.

• Click "Grab" to start.

7. Subscribing to Newsgroups

To subscribe to newsgroups:

• Use the group search to find desired newsgroups.

• Right-click on a group and select "Subscribe.
