Easynews Legacy Domain Retirement

To maintain the quality and security of Easynews services, all legacy domains have been retired. These older addresses have been replaced by the current, actively maintained Web and NNTP access points.

What Changed

Legacy domains such as cable.easynews.com, texas.easynews.com, and secure.news.easynews.com are no longer operational. These older access points were originally created for regional routing or ISP-specific access. They have now been replaced by a more modern, secure, and unified domain structure.

Why the Change?

The move away from legacy domains simplifies access, enhances security, and helps focus support on a streamlined set of services. This change supports the full range of Easynews features, including access to all supported newsgroups with full article retention and search tools that work with your preferred indexer.

What to Do

To continue using Easynews without interruption:

For Web Access

  1. Update bookmarks to https://members.easynews.com

  2. Sign in with your Easynews username and password

For NNTP Access

  1. Open your newsreader settings

  2. Replace the server address with news.easynews.com

  3. Use port 563 for SSL connections

  4. Enter your Easynews username and password when prompted

If you're using a third-party indexer or automation tool, be sure to update any server references to reflect the new domain.
