What Is Unlimited NNTP?

Unlimited NNTP is a feature included with all Easynews subscription plans. It offers unrestricted access to Usenet through third-party newsreaders or Indexers that use the Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP).

While many Easynews users prefer the all-in-one Web-based interface, Unlimited NNTP access makes it possible to connect through a different application or automation tool. This option is ideal for those who want to configure their own setup for accessing Usenet newsgroups.

Benefits of Unlimited NNTP

  • Access all Usenet newsgroups supported by Easynews.

  • Take advantage of Easynews's full article retention.

  • Use up to 60 concurrent connections.

  • Connect securely using 256-bit SSL encryption.

Your usage through NNTP counts toward the same data allocation as usage through the Easynews Web interface. There is no additional charge to use NNTP access—it is included with every Easynews plan. If NNTP access is not yet active on your account, you can add it from the Add-Ons tab in your Easynews control panel.

How to Access Usenet via Unlimited NNTP

  1. Open your preferred newsreader or automation tool.

  2. Enter the Easynews NNTP server address: news.easynews.com

  3. Use your Easynews username and password to authenticate.

  4. Choose SSL or non-SSL based on your preference:

    • SSL Port: 563

    • Non-SSL Port: 119

  5. Set the number of connections (up to 60 allowed).

  6. Start accessing articles from the Usenet newsgroups of your choice.
